Jordan's Surgery

I wanted to hop on and give a quick update. Jordan had her palate repair on Wednesday at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughter. Everything went well, her surgery only lasted two hours. She stayed in the hospital overnight. She isn't a fan of eating yet, I think it agitates her to swallow more than anything. They are using a different method of feeding than they did with Jackson. She is syringe feeding for two weeks before she goes back on the bottle. Luckily with this method even when she doesn't feel like eating I can help her along a little and get more in her. I'm putting up a couple of pictures. The one in the Looney Tunes gown is just before her surgery and the other one is 24 hours post op. We are heading back home today, it's yucky weather so send up some travel prayers. Jackson is meeting us at home. He's been in SC all week, I'll be glad to see my buddy again! Here's a picture of him from his birthday party last week. He had a great time! No one can say he isn't grateful, he was thrilled over every single gift and card he opened.

Happy Valentine's Day

I figure I better get on here tonight and wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day..... otherwise it may not get said. I'm liable to forget. We're getting ready to head to SC for Jackson's birthday party, then we'll be gearing up for Jordan's surgery in VA. We have a lot of driving in our future for next week.

Last week Jackson went to the ophthalmologist. He is now wearing a patch over his left eye for six hours a day to correct strabism. He is doing great with it. If he thinks about it too much he says it aggravates him but as long as he is busy those six hours breeze. It helps that he loves Pirates of the Caribbean. *ARGH*:)

Five???

Jackson is five now. I can't believe it! He started his day yesterday with a doctor visit for his KINDERGARTEN health assessment. Kindergarten?? He did great on all the questions she asked him. He is 42 lbs and 42' tall. A far cry from the 7lbs 1oz baby that was deemed failure to thrive huh? He did not have to get shots yesterday but did get his finger pricked for some blood. He was not happy about that, although he did not cry. For his birthday we went to Red Robin. The wait staff came and sang to him and gave him a big ice cream sundae, as you can see from the look on his face he was surprised! He helped me make a cake for himself. It wasn't very pretty but it tasted yummy. He got Pirates of the Caribbean toys from us. That is his current obsession. To cap off the night I used our table tripod for a family photo. Jordan is teething and was so ready for bed at that point! I think she knew it was his birthday and was jealous, I am not kidding. All she wanted yesterday was to be held. Have you mixed a birthday cake while holding a five month old? I have.:)

My birthday

My birthday was this past Saturday. Adam, being the sweet husband that he is, made it one of the best I've ever had. First, I got a portable dishwasher. Yay! I cannot stand doing dishes! Adam didn't want to be the husband who gets his wife appliances for her birthday so he also got me an oil burner from The Body Shop, and six yummy oils to burn. We went out to eat at Kanki, a Japanese steakhouse. It was great. Jackson was so intrigued by the chef he hardly ate. Adam surprised me with balloons and a cake, along with the waiters singing Happy Birthday in Japanese. I *always* spoil surprises but he got me this time.:) Here are a few pics from our night.
