Day by Day

Jordan had her well baby check today. She got three shots, which she wasn't happy about. She is right on target with her milestones, she is laughing and cooing, rolling from tummy to back, and grabbing for things. The doctor was very nice, I really liked her. She was also pleased with how well Jordan eats in spite of her cleft. Jordan weighed in at 11lbs 8 oz and is 25 and 1/4 inches long.

This is a special day for us, Adam's first day of school. He spent last week going through orientation, getting acquainted with the campus and faculty as well as getting registered. I told him last night, half joking, "Well, see you in four years." These are his books for the semester and he's not even going full time! And yes, the spiral bound monstrosity is a book too.

In other news, Jordan is sleeping in her crib. She's been in the bassinet and is too long for it now. She sleeps through the night, from about 9pm to 8am. Can't beat that, I love a good sleeper. Jackson, on the other hand is quite the night owl. I'm trying to get him used to an earlier routine so he'll be prepared for K5 but he isn't feeling it. Here is little miss in her new bed, just hanging out.

Jackson's big thing right now is taking pictures all the time. I need to make an album of his creative eye. He takes some out of the box photos but does great with them. If he turns out to be a photographer I'd love to have an album of his first shots to give him! Jordan is growing more each day. She has her own personality, it's "my way or the highway" most of the time! She has a short temper (she got that from me) and boy does she let you know when she is not happy! I have a feeling she is going to be a handful!

To our home that is. We got our furniture today and I just wanted to share.

Jordan's surgery date for her palate repair has been scheduled. It is on February 20th, at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in VA. With Dr. Rosenblum of course. We wouldn't imagine using anyone else. Jackson is going to spend some time in SC this time. Now that we live out of state I think he will enjoy some quality time with family over missing us like I was worried about last time. I made the mistake of mentioning his birthday coming up in February. Now that is what we talk about all day every day. He's chosen a theme (Pirates, naturally), picked out his outfit, you name it and he is prepared. I don't know what we will have to look forward to after that. I guess kindergarten. I cannot believe that kindergarten is in our future this fall! We've been looking at where Jackson will attend school. Looks like we will be venturing into year round school. After looking at the calendar I think we will like the schedule. It is nine week semesters and three week breaks in between. On a side note, we finally got furniture for our living room today. We purchased it last weeks and it took a week to be delivered. You don't realize how vital couches are until you live without one for a year.:) Well, that's all that is going on in our world so let me hop off here.....
