Day by Day

Only two more days until the premiere of Fireproof. This is a movie produced by the same people who made Facing the Giants. What's amazing is that these movies are made by a church in Georgia. Their first movie, Flywheel, was a $20,000 project that in turn sold 200,000 copies. It is amazing to see God work through a church to put such awesome movies into mainstream media. Plus, I am personally excited to see one of my all time faves, Kirk Cameron, in the lead role. ;) Hopefully this is one we can make the theater for, if not, I will be anxiously awaiting its arrival in stores!

We have a furniture cruiser on our hands. She spends her day going around the living room in circles holding onto the the TV cabinet, the coffee table, sofa, and love seat. This photo was taken at our church's parsonage, we hang out there on Sundays between am and pm church. Notice Jackson's homemade tent. He thought it was pretty cool, then we he figured out Jordan was scared to go in, it became even more cool!

Jackson had a follow up appointment with his eye doctor, it has been two months since his surgery. After a thorough check his doctor decided that he does not need more patching and no glasses for now! Yay! Jackson is especially thrilled because we had gotten lax on the patching but I told Jackson on the way that if the doctor says more patching there will be no whining or fussing, he will just have to wear the patch. You should have seen his face when the doctor said no patches.:) We don't have to go back until February. Hooray!

When I posted "It's on now" I didn't know just how "on" it was. Jordan went from climbing the bottom step to mastering the entire staircase! Of course I don't just let her roam up the steps but if I let her she can go step for step without missing a beat. Plus she is pulling up on everything. She hasn't figured out how to go from standing back to sitting so she gets frustrated quite often during the day. I had to move her crib mattress down to a lower slot, she started standing in the crib and making me nervous. Tonight she "got in trouble" because she kept standing up in the bathtub. So instead of having some play time in the tub with Jackson she had to be washed and taken out. Boy are our hands full with her. And she is only 12 months! Jackson started pulling up around 15 months. This is too soon for me, I am not ready for my baby to breech toddlerhood.

This is not a political post. I just wanted to share a couple of photos I found very interesting. Whether or not you are a Sarah Palin supporter, you have to find it neat to see a political figure doing her job while wearing her baby in a SLING. Pretty awesome.

Jordan finally cut her first tooth! I was fishing something out of her mouth (like always) and felt a little razor of a baby tooth on the bottom. It should be out and showing for photo ops in a week or so. Can't wait to see her first pearly white. Also, today she discovered that she can climb the stairs. I am NOT ready for this! She can pull up and climb two steps to the landing. She is clumsy and sits right on the edge, scaring me half to death. I tried to prop something in front of the stairs to keep her off.... she just pulled it down and kept going up. The gate we have doesn't work well at the bottom of the stairs so it is back to the drawing board. We will be keeping a hawk eye on her, that is for sure.

Jackson got to purchase his first book from a book fair today. Yesterday he came home with a long wish list someone helped him compile. We gave him money and told him he could pick out his favorite book from the list. He was excited to get to shop on his own. However, he didn't understand why he could only pick one book. I'm trying to explain to him that you don't get everything you want, plus his bookshelf is overflowing as it is. Once we got home and he flipped through his book he got over it. He asked me when it is track out again. Now that we are in a routine of school he is ready for another break. that is one plus of year round school, he doesn't have to wait until Christmas to get one. He has a few more weeks, but around mid October he will track out. To him, it can't come quick enough!
